ANKARA
The number of motor vehicles which were registered in traffic in Turkey increased in May, 2012.
TurkStat, Turkey's statistical authority, stated on Tuesday that a total of 102,899 motor vehicles were registered in traffic, while 8,938 vehicles were withdrawn in May 2012.
Among registered motor vehicles in May 2012, cars took the first place with 50 percent (51,403) and followed by motorcycles with 19.7 percent (20,276), small trucks with 17.6 percent (18,118) and tractors with 6.3 percent (6,449).
In May 2012, the number of registered motor vehicles increased 17.5 percent when compared to April, while it dropped ten percent when compared to May 2011.
