Germany's import prices up over 30% in May
Natural gas import prices see largest annual increase with 235.6% in May

ISTANBUL
Germany's import prices rose significantly by 30.6% in May 2022, versus the same month last year, according to official figures on Thursday.
The federal statistical office, Destatis said the prices also increased by 0.9% on a monthly basis.
Meanwhile, export prices were up by 15.9% on a yearly and 0.6% on a monthly basis in May.
Destatis said energy imports were 143.8% more expensive in May versus the same month 2021.
"The largest influence on the year-on-year rate of the energy price increase had the price increase of natural gas with a plus of 235.6%, followed by that of crude oil with a plus of 80.2%," it added.
