Eurozone unemployment at 6.6% in September

ISTANBUL

The unemployment rate in the euro area was at 6.6% in September, down from 6.7% in August and 7.3% in September 2021.

According to Eurostat data released on Thursday, the unemployment rate was also at 6% in the EU, stable compared to August and down from 6.7% in September last year.

Almost 13 million people, of whom around 11 million were in the euro area, were unemployed in the month.

The youth unemployment rate was 14.6% both in the EU and eurozone, up from 14.3% and 14.4% respectively, month-on-month in September.
