Consumer confidence was down in August when compared to July in 2012.
According to GfK survey institution, the index, which was 92.2 in July 2012, dropped 5.1 percent to 87.1 in August 2012.
Consumers saw "terrorism and developments in Syria" as the top agenda of August.
The consumer confidence index can take values between 0-200. It indicates an optimistic outlook when the index is above 100, but it gives a pessimistic outlook when it is below 100.
