Consumer and producer prices indices in Turkey dropped in June 2012.
According to TurkStat, Turkey's statistical authority, consumer prices index dropped 0.90 percent, and producer prices index decreased 1.49 percent in June.
When compared to June 2011, consumer prices index rose 8.87 percent, and producer prices index increased 6.44 percent.
On 12-month basis, annual inflation was posted as 8.89 percent in consumer prices, and 10.24 percent in producer prices.
The highest monthly increase was 1.92 percent in the index for communication by main expenditure groups. The indices rose for education 1.67 percent, for recreation and culture 0.90 percent, for miscellaneous goods and services 0.88 percent, for furnishings and household equipment 0.49 percent, for hotels, cafes and restaurants 0.49 percent, for housing 0.14 percent, for health 0.13 percent, while the index declined for clothing and footwear 0.82 percent, for transportation 1.39 percent, for food and non-alcoholic beverages 3.42 percent. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco remained unchanged.
The highest monthly increase in the producer prices index of industrial activities was recorded 2.97 percent in the index for communication equipment.
Producer prices index increased 1.72 percent in the index for electricity, gas and water, decreased 0.55 percent in the index for mining and stone quarrying, 0.75 percent in the index for manufacturing.
