ISTANBUL 

Turkey's benchmark stock exchange Borsa Istanbul increased by 0.51% or 618.15 points to open the last day of the week on 121,619 points.

On Thursday, the BIST 100 index increased slightly by 0.05% to close the day at 121,000.85 points with 16.8 billion Turkish liras ($2.9 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.8550 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared to 5.8490 at the previous close.

The Euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.5230, versus 6.5220, while one British pound was traded for 7.6750 Turkish liras. It was 7.6570 at Thursday's close.

The price of a one barrel Brent oil was around $64.60 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Friday.
