Some 100 global startups were on Tuesday given a free-of-charge opportunity to participate in the Investment Readiness Workshop at the Global Fundraising Stage (GFRS), an international co-investment platform for investors and startups aiming to raise funds.

Supported by the World Business Angel Investment Forum (WBAF) in Istanbul, the GFRS was organized as part of the forum's World Congress 2020.

The two-day congress, which kicked off on Monday, is hosting hundreds of participants from 92 countries and 132 international speakers on 24 panels, including angel investors, venture capitalists, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and business leaders.

The selected startups also had a one-on-one session with mentors at the WBAF, a statement issued by the forum said.

"The WBAF aims to ease access to finance for businesses from startup to scaleup to exit, with the ultimate goal of generating economic development, jobs, and more social justice worldwide," the statement added.

The event, for which Anadolu Agency is the global communications partner, is expected to be attended by 1,500 delegates in total.
