ADIYAMAN, Turkey
An ancient mosaic which was found in southeastern Turkey in 2009 has opened for exhibition on Thursday.
The mosaic was unearthed in the ancient city of Perre in Adiyaman province and prepared for display following works of restoration and conservation.
Mehmet Alkan, director for the Adiyaman Museum, told reporters that the size of the mosaic is 155 square meters, while 125 square meters of it is in good condition.
Alkan said the mosaic opened to visitors on Thursday after the conservation and restoration works were completed.
A grazing mountain goat and birds are illustrated at the center of the ancient mosaic.
