English indie band to rock Istanbul
Rock veterans The Charlatans will take to the stage at Istanbul’s Kucukciftlik Park on August 14.
Fronted by singer-songwriter Tim Burgess, the Manchester band has been performing for more than 25 years.
The band has had 22 U.K. top 40 hits such as The Only One I Know and Can’t Get Out of Bed.

Jazz cruise to host gigs on Bosphorus
Swedish-Turkish musician Ilhan Ersahin will perform as part of the Jazz at Sea organization on August 8.
The ‘Primetime Cruise’ will gather jazz lovers on the iconic Bosphorus Strait.
Based in New York since 1990, Ersahin has two well-known jazz clubs, one there and one in Istanbul.

Israeli singer Yasmin Levy to perform in Istanbul
Singer-songwriter Yasmin Levy will take to the stage at Istanbul’s Harbiye Open Air Theater on August 12.
The 39-year-old performer is considered by many as the leading singer in Ladino – an ancient mix of Hebrew and Spanish.
Accompanied by Turkish singer Halil Sezai, Levy will also sing flamenco and Turkish music, with Ladino and Persian lyrics during her performance.
The award-winning performer is also well-known for her sentimental songs such as Naci en Alamo and La Alegria.
Her music is mix of Sephardic influences and the musical traditions of the Middle East and Anatolia. She also combines Middle Eastern instruments such as the darbuka, oud and European instruments like violin, cello and piano.

Istanbul gallery open for summer exhibition
An exhibition called Summertime gathers artists from the Netherlands, the U.K, the U.S., Sweden and Turkey in Istanbul’s Galerist exhibition hall.
The exhibition will run until August 15 and focuses on a “fragmented trajectory through a toxic territory,” organizers say.
