Anadolu Agency published a new analysis in a book that focuses on concerns about the future of the EU with the transformation of the continent in social and political crises as a result of events during the past 20 years.

Well-known academicians, experts, strategists and analysts are among the authors of the 333-page book, Europe's Identity Crisis, that consists of five main chapters, including Europe's Perspective on Islam, The Refugee Issue in Europe, Europe Moving to the Right, Separatist Movements in Europe and Coronavirus and the Future of the EU.

Anadolu Agency Director-General Senol Kazanci in the preface noted the EU, which expresses itself with the slogan of "unity in diversity," has been under the influence of important events in the last two decades.

The idea of a common Europe that united the continent after the destructive consequences of World War II has been tested with old fears, he said.

"On the one hand, UK's exit from this partnership with the Brexit decision, on the other hand, the economic dilemmas of the new members who joined the Union in 2004, and the influx of immigrants to Europe in search of a bright future, and the resulting far-right ideas finding ground, raise concerns and question marks about the future of the EU," according to Kazanci, who said that the book will be a resource for researchers interested in the political and social future of the EU.

The book consists of analysis and features news that deal with Europe's transformation in the social and political crises and the EU's future perspective.

Anadolu Agency previously published three books as part of its analysis series.
