Tuesday’s apparent chemical attack in Syria's Idlib left over 100 dead and another 500 injured
KHAN SHAYKHUN, Syria
Footage captured by Anadolu Agency photographers has revealed the devastation wrought by Tuesday’s apparent chemical attack in Syria’s northwestern Idlib province.
The footage was taken in the immediate aftermath of the attack, which left over 100 people dead -- including women and children -- and another 500 injured.
Video shows destroyed buildings in Idlib’s Khan Shaykhun district in the attack’s immediate aftermath, while panicked residents can be seen grabbing their belongings and fleeing their homes.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency, victims of the apparent gas attack described the ordeal.
“The family living next door awoke to the sound of the attack,” survivor Jamil
“They all succumbed to the effects of the gas after being rushed to a nearby field hospital,” he
“The same thing happened to another family of seven,” he added.
