KABUL, Afghanistan
Turkey’s state-run aid agency provided food aid to 1,000 families in northern Afghanistan.
In a statement, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) said the food packages contained flour, rice, oil, tea, granulated sugar, tomato paste, kidney beans and salt for families living in tents and schools.
The families took refuge in the northern Cuzcan province after fleeing their homes in Faryab and Sar-e Pol provinces due to conflicts and adverse seasonal conditions.
Established in 1992, Turkey's government-run aid agency is responsible for implementing Turkey's developmental cooperation policies overseas.
