Turkey on Wednesday marked Uzbekistan’s National Flag Day.

"I congratulate Nov. 18 National Flag Day of friendly and brotherly Uzbekistan with heartfelt wishes. We will further develop our strategic partnership with our joint efforts," Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Twitter.

Turkey was the first country to recognize Uzbekistan on Dec. 16, 1991, and diplomatic relations were established between two countries on March 4, 1992, according to the Foreign Ministry's website.

Turkey’s trade volume with Uzbekistan reached $2.3 billion in 2019.
