Turkey’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday condemned North Korea’s mid-range ballistic missile test.
“The launches violate North Korea’s international obligations and constitute a threat to regional and international security and stability,” the ministry said in a press statement.
It urged Pyongyang to comply with its international obligations and cease ballistic missile and weapons of mass activities.
North Korea’s state media on Thursday celebrated the success of a mid-range ballistic missile test conducted June 22.
The indigenous Musudan missile, which North Korea refers to as the Hwasong-10, could theoretically reach U.S. troops based as far as Guam.
Having been hit with strengthened U.N. sanctions for a fourth-ever nuclear test in January and a subsequent rocket launch, Pyongyang could now face additional punishment.
