KABUL, Afghanistan
At least 30 people lost lives and over 90 others were wounded following a massive truck bombing in Afghanistan's eastern Logar province bordering the capital Kabul, an official confirmed.
Logar Provincial Assembly head Haseeb Stanekzai told Anadolu Agency that the truck loaded with explosives was detonated near a residence of a local politician where members of the police force were resting.
Some local media reports suggested that the blast ripped through a crowd gathered to receive food aid in connection with the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing.
Afghanistan has been witnessing flared-up violence since the announcement of the US troops withdrawal plan by President Joe Biden.
