Strong recurring earthquakes shake Philippines
Philippines hit by strong 6.0 and 5.6 magnitude tremors on Mindanao Island

ISTANBUL
Several recurring earthquakes of magnitude above 5 on Richter scale jolted Philippines on Tuesday.
According to the US Geological Survey, an earthquake of magnitude 6 hit the Southeast Asian nation this afternoon.
The strong tremor was felt at around about 2pm (0600GMT), in the mountainous gold-mining province of Davao de Oro on Mindanao Island.
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said that the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.9 which was followed by another 5.6 magnitude earthquake at around 04:47PM (0847 GMT).
Several other tremors of lower magnitude were recorded today but there was no report of any damage.
