Pakistan on Tuesday successfully conducted a live weapons test of an indigenously developed air-launched cruise missile, showcasing enhanced maritime strike capabilities, according to the Pakistan Army's media wing.
In a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations, the Pakistan Navy has successfully fired the Taimoor Air-Launched Cruise Missile, describing it as an advanced anti-ship weapon system designed to target enemy vessels at extended ranges.
According to the statement, the missile demonstrated “exceptional precision,” validating the navy’s ability to detect, engage, and neutralize sea-based threats with accuracy.
The test underscores what officials described as a significant boost to Pakistan’s conventional defense capabilities and its multi-domain operational readiness.
The military said the development reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen maritime security and protect the country’s sovereign waters.
Pakistan’s political and military leadership congratulated the scientists and engineers involved in the program, calling it a major milestone in the country’s indigenous defense development, according to the statement.
