Magnitude 6.2 quake strikes off Japan
No tsunami alert issued
TOKYO
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred off the southern coast of Japan’s Tokaido region.
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported that the quake took place at a depth of 450 kilometers (279 miles).
No tsunami alert was issued following the quake.
