Magnitude 6 earthquake jolts Taiwan: USGS
No immediate reports of damage
ISTANBUL
A magnitude 6 earthquake jolted Taiwan on Wednesday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake originated at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) at 5.47 pm local time (0947GMT).
The local Central Weather Administration measured the quake at 6.1 magnitude in the Taitung County in southeastern Taiwan, according to the Focus Taiwan news website.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
