ANKARA 

At least four hikers were killed when heavy rainstorm caused floods in China on Monday, local media reported.

A group of 285 hikers from three tourist groups got trapped after the downfall started around 3pm on Sunday (0700) Sunday GMT) in China's eastern Jiangxi province, Xinhua news reported.

The rainstorm caused floods in Gaohu town near the city of Yichun which killed four hikers, it added.

Local authorities launched rescue operations and all the missing hikers were rescued.

“Local authorities have sent more than 530 rescuers to the affected area,” the report added.
