ANKARA

The death toll from last week's boat accident in the waters off Rizal in the Philippines’ Occidental Mindoro region climbed to nine following the recovery of two more bodies on Sunday.

Two people still remain missing, local English daily The Manila Times reported, citing local authorities.

The victims have yet to be identified.

According to a Philippine Coast Guard statement, the vessel with 25 crew members, including 13 Filipinos and 12 Chinese, capsized last Tuesday in moderate sea conditions off Rizal.

Some 14 crew members survived.
