ISTANBUL

China, Russia, and Mongolia conducted their first joint border defense exercise on Monday and Tuesday in a border area where the three nations converge, the People's Liberation Army Daily reported on Wednesday.

The exercise, named "Border Defense Cooperation 2025," was aimed at enhancing coordination to counter terrorism and sabotage in border regions.

The live exercise was designed to improve the three countries' ability to address border security threats and strengthen strategic trust.

During the event, the three nations established a joint command post in China and engaged in joint planning, reconnaissance, and strikes, testing a new approach to border defense collaboration.

Following the drill, the three military forces exchanged perspectives on border management and control.
