China launches Shijian-28 satellite
Mission marks 611th flight of Long March-series rockets
ISTANBUL
China launched a new satellite on Sunday from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan, a southern island province, according to state media.
The Shijian-28 satellite was launched into space at 8.20 pm Beijing Time (1220GMT) on a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket and successfully reached its designated orbit.
This mission marked the 611th flight of homegrown Long March rockets, according to Xinhua News.
On Nov. 19, China launched three satellites, Shijian-30A, Shijian-30B, and Shijian-30C, for space environment exploration and related technology verification.
