BEIJING 

Turkey and China should increase strategic cooperation, the Chinese foreign minister said Thursday.

China’s top diplomat Wang Yi received Turkey’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal in capital Beijing.

Wang said both countries shared common interests and have big emerging markets.

He called the Turkish official's visit valuable in terms of political dimensions.

Onal said they had conducted fruitful bilateral talks and invited China's foreign minister to attend the annual Ambassadors' Conference to be held in Turkey in August.

Onal was accompanied by Abdulkadir Emin Onen, Turkey’s ambassador in Beijing.
