KABUL, Afghanistan

At least five civilians have been injured in a suicide car bombing aimed at foreign troops in the capital Kabul on Sunday, an official said.

Mohammad Sadique Murady, commander of the Afghan National Police’s Asmaye Zone, told Anadolu Agency the incident took place when a suicide bomber rammed explosive-laden vehicle into an armored convoy of Danish troops.

According to the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission (RSM), no casualties have been inflicted upon their members.

“An improvised explosive device targeted a NATO convoy this morning in Kabul”, the RSM said in a statement released on the social media, adding a team from the RSM is on the scene to recover the vehicle.

On their part, the Taliban have claimed the attack. Zabihullah Mujahed, spokesman for the Taliban, has said 3 armored personnel carrier (APC) have been destroyed and 16 “invaders” have been killed in this attack.
