A 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Nagano province in central Japan on Saturday, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
The quake hit at 1.20 pm (0420GMT) at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles), registering an upper 5 on Japan’s seismic intensity scale in the city of Omachi – a level strong enough to make it difficult for many people to walk, Kyodo News reported.
Despite the strong shaking, there were no immediate reports of injuries or property damage in the landlocked region.
