ANKARA

At least two people were killed and 27 rescued when a boat sank in central China's Hunan province, state media reported on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when the 40-seat boat capsized at Dongjiang Lake in the city of Zixing, causing 29 people to fall into the water, Beijing-based Xinhua News reported.

Search and rescue efforts concluded Sunday afternoon as the only missing person was found but showed no vital signs.

According to initial investigations, a sudden gust of wind, reaching speeds of up to 30 meters per second, struck the area at the time of the accident.
