2 dead, 2 missing after boat carrying 37 people capsizes in Indonesia
Motorboat sank after being hit by massive wave in West Sulawesi province, according to authorities
ISTANBUL
Two people were found dead while two others went missing after a motorboat carrying at least 37 capsized on Wednesday in waters off Indonesia.
The GT-6 vessel departed from Ambo Island in Bala-Balakang Islands towards Sumare Pier in Mamuju Regency in West Sulawesi province on Wednesday.
Search and rescue personnel evacuated 33 passengers safely to a regional police hospital, Jakarta-based Antara News reported.
According to authorities, the vessel capsized after being hit by a massive wave.
A search for the missing passengers is underway.
