At least 16 people were killed while 36 others remained missing in flash floods caused by heavy rains on Thursday in northwestern China.
The gushing waters came down from a mountain in the Datong county of northwestern China's Qinghai province, the Chinese daily Global Times reported.
Local authorities have launched rescue and relief operations.
