Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and government spokesman Bulent Arinc said on Monday that judiciary made the right decision, referring to recent verdicts of Turkish court in Ergenekon trial by adding, "Judgment should be respected".
Speaking after the Council of Ministers meeting, Arinc evaluated the recent verdicts of Turkish court on Ergenekon trial.
"We have neither condemned nor clap the imprisonment sentence. Judgment should be respected" Arinc said and added, "it is not about 'like or dislike the decision'. It is a judicial decision. This is an obligation to comply with the judgment whether like it or not."
Arinc, stating that the court rescinded the trial, said "No one has privilege to commit crime, so judiciary made the right decision."
An Istanbul high criminal court on Monday had announced its verdicts on 275 suspects of the six-year-long Ergenekon trial, who were accused of plotting to depose the Justice and Development (AK) Party government, ruling prison sentences of up to two counts of life imprisonment to some and acquitting 65 others.
