Syria took "intimidating measures" against Turkish fighter jets as they patrolled the border with Syria, the Turkish armed forces have said.
Missile systems targeted the jets and maintained a "lock" on them for more than 15 minutes as they flew along borderlines, the armed forces said in a statement on Wednesday.
Turkish F-16s shot down a Syrian military aircraft on March 23 - a week before Turkey's local elections - after it repeatedly violated Turkish airspace.
