PRESIDENT GUL DUE TO EGYPT
ANKARA - Turkish President Abdullah Gul will pay a one-day visit to Egypt.
Gul, who will visit Egypt on March 3, will meet with Supreme Military Council which took over the administration after resignation of president Hosni Mubarak. The Council, which announced that it would hold democratic elections in Egypt, is headed by Hussein Tantavi.
Gul, who aims to display solidarity with Egyptian state and people during his visit, will share his views about the transition period with Egyptian officials.
Following the protests, Mubarak, who ruled the country more than three decades, stepped down on February 11.
