Caglayan told reporters prior to his departure for Iraq that Iraq was the fifth market of Turkey in export, adding that Turkey's foreign trade with Iraq was increasing each day.
Caglayan said that they aimed to exceed 20 billion USD in Turkey-Iraq trade volume by 2011.
He said that he would meet with many Iraqi ministers today, and discuss new cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
Noting that he would meet with officials of Turkish companies and Turkish businessmen who were working in Iraq, Caglayan said that Iraq Fair, which had been held in Turkish southeastern province of Gaziantep so far, would take place in Baghdad from now on.
Caglayan said that five of ten hospitals which were recently built in Iraq were constructed by a Turkish company. He added that many initiatives would be launched in Iraq in residence, infrastructure and superstructure areas.
Caglayan noted that they wanted to speed up activities to make a free trade agreement with Iraq.
Caglayan left for Iraq together with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. They are expected to return to Turkey tonight.
