Attendees of the 6th Afro-Arab Joint Committee Summit, which convened on Monday in Ethiopian capital Addia Ababa, agreed to harmonize their policies and enhance economic cooperation.

"The meeting agreed to harmonize Afro-Arab policies on U.N. forums and implement decisions made during the 5th Troika meeting in Cairo, Egypt," Kuwaiti Ambassador to Ethiopia Rashed Al-Hajri told Anadolu Agency.

The diplomat described the one-day meeting as "successful."

"It gives hope that the existing Afro-Arab relation will be strengthened," he said.

Al-Hajri said forum participants had agreed to hold the next Afro-Arab ministerial meeting in New York on September 22 on the sidelines of a U.N. General Assembly meeting.
