Portugal will face hosts France or World Cup holders Germany in the Euro 2016 final after they beat Wales 2-0 in the first semi-final Wednesday night at the Stade de Lyon.
Portugal broke the deadlock in 50th minute with a powerful Cristiano Ronaldo header and they doubled their lead over Wales, playing in their first major semi-final, three minutes later as Nani diverted Ronaldo’s shot.
The other team for Sunday’s final will be decided Thursday in Marseille.
Portugal were the runners-up in Euro 2004, when they were beaten 1-0 by Greece in Lisbon.
