Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello announced Thursday the dismantling of a terrorist group that was preparing to attack military bases and kidnap the judge and former president of the Supreme Court.

Speaking to state television channel VTV, Cabello said "there is no doubt that these terrorist groups are linked to fascist political organizations in Venezuela."

"The detainees have confessed, and we have identified their connections."

Cabello said they carried operations resulting in the capture of at least 15 people.

He added that among those detained was a member of the Bolivarian Intelligence Service, who is accused of handing over explosives to put in a helicopter that the terrorists planned to detonate while it was in flight.
