US Senate confirms Troy Meink as next Air Force secretary
President Donald Trump's pick confirmed in 74-25 vote

WASHINGTON
The US Senate confirmed Troy Meink to be the 27th secretary of the Air Force.
President Donald Trump's pick was confirmed in a 74-25 vote Tuesday. Sen. Lindsey Graham did not vote.
During his testimony in March before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Meink said his top priority will be to equip the Department of the Air Force to have “the lethality needed to deter all potential aggressors, and if necessary, win in conflict.”
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth congratulated Meink on his confirmation.
"Your leadership is exactly what we need to refocus the Department of Defense on its core mission—lethality, readiness, and putting the warfighter first," Hegseth said on X.
