WASHINGTON

The US Senate confirmed 107 of President Donald Trump’s nominees Tuesday under new rules adopted last month to speed up confirmations that had been delayed by partisan gridlock.

Senators voted 51-47 along party lines to approve the nominees, which included ambassadors, agency heads and US attorneys. Among those confirmed were former Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker as ambassador to the Bahamas, Sergio Gor as ambassador to India, and David Fink to lead the Federal Railroad Administration.

The first group of 48 nominees was approved three weeks ago.

The rule change came after Democrats blocked an earlier agreement to speed up the process before the August recess, leaving hundreds of nominations stalled for months.
