Multiple fatalities were confirmed in a shooting in Harford County, Maryland, according to local authorities Thursday.
"At 9:06 a.m. [1306GMT] a report was received for shots fired at the Rite Aid distribution center," Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler said at a news conference.
Gahler confirmed "multiple" people were wounded and there were "multiple fatalities".
"Based on what we know right now, the lone suspect in this incident is in custody and in critical condition at a local hospital," said Gahler.
He said there is no further threat to the community and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
The FBI Baltimore office is assisting Harford County authorities with the situation.
In June, a gunman attacked a newspaper office in Annapolis, Maryland, killing five people.
