US lawmaker says he is nominating Trump for Nobel Peace Prize
'No one deserves it more,' says Republican Rep. Darrell Issa

WASHINGTON
Republican Congressman Darrell Issa announced Monday that he is nominating US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
"Today I will nominate @realDonaldTrump for the Nobel Peace Prize. No one deserves it more," Issa said on X.
Issa did not share further details on why he is nominating Trump.
Last month, during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Oval Office, Trump was asked about the prize.
"They will never give me a Nobel Peace Prize. It’s too bad. I deserve it, but they will never give it to me," he told reporters.
Four American presidents have won the Nobel Peace Prize, which was to be awarded to the person who had done the most for "fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses."
