WASHINGTON
The US State Department on Tuesday said it had approved a possible military sale of M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and related equipment to Sweden.
The estimated total cost is $930 million, the agency said in a statement.
"The proposed sale will improve Sweden’s capability to meet current and future threats and enhance its interoperability with U.S. and other allied forces. It will also enhance Sweden’s artillery and mid-range fire capability," it added.
The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin, located in the state of Texas.
