WASHINGTON
Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed sorrow on Saturday over Friday's deadly plane crash in Bolivia.
"We are deeply saddened by the plane crash that occurred yesterday in El Alto, Bolivia," the ministry said in a statement.
It also extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the "tragic accident", and wishied a speedy recovery to the injured.
At least 15 people were killed and over 30 others injured when a Bolivian Air Force Hercules transport aircraft, reportedly carrying a shipment of newly printed banknotes, crashed onto a crowded highway while trying to land in poor weather conditions near the capital, La Paz.
Local authorities said the military aircraft was attempting to land at El Alto International Airport when it veered off the runway and crashed onto a nearby roadway.
