Trump to host top tech executives, officials for White House AI lunch

US President Donald Trump will host prominent technology executives on Tuesday and unveil America.gov, an artificial intelligence-powered federal platform designed to help citizens access government services.

The president will announce the digital initiative at 10 am local time (1400 GMT) during an address at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, before holding a closed-press session on AI at the White House at 12.30 pm.

An RSVP list obtained by Axios showed 31 confirmed attendees, including Vice President JD Vance, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and US House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Tech executives expected to attend include Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, AMD CEO Lisa Su, Broadcom CEO Hock Tan, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and Palantir CEO Alex Karp.

OpenAI President Greg Brockman will also attend, while CEO Sam Altman is in San Francisco for the company's annual conference, Axios said.

Others expected are former White House AI czar David Sacks, NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, White House science adviser Michael Kratsios and National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton.

The high-level discussions come amid an intensifying debate and calls for regulation of the fast-developing technology.

Trump has repeatedly dismissed calls for a slowdown, pushing instead for expedited data center construction and uninhibited technological expansion. "Whoever wins AI, wins," Trump has said, insisting that the US must preserve its technological lead over global competitors such as China.
