Trump says he won't be dictator 'except for day one' if elected
'I want to close the border, and I want to drill, drill, drill,' says former president

WASHINGTON
Former US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he will not be a dictator "except for day one" if he is elected next year.
When asked during a Fox News town hall whether he would abuse the power of the office to seek revenge, he said: "Except for day one."
Repeating the phrase, he said: "I want to close the border, and I want to drill, drill, drill."
"He says, 'You’re not going to be a dictator, are you?' I said: 'No, no, no. Other than day one.' We’re closing the border, and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I’m not a dictator," Trump added.
When asked about his reaction to President Joe Biden who said "If Trump wasn't running, I'm not sure I'd be running," Trump said: "Well, I think somebody gave him a talking point. They thought that would sound good."
Referring to the Democrats, Trump claimed that they are good at "cheating on elections and great talking points."
