Trump regularly receives options to end Iran war but has not accepted any: Report
Advisers divided over exit strategy as war timeline remains fluid, sources say
ISTANBUL
US President Donald Trump is regularly presented with options to end the Iran war but has so far declined to act on any of them, NBC News reported, citing people familiar with the plans.
Exit strategies are offered daily alongside escalation options as part of standard war planning.
Trump's advisers remain divided, some push for an exit strategy, citing global economic instability, while others see the conflict as an opportunity to permanently diminish Iran's regional footprint.
The timeline about the end of the war "could change every day," one source told NBC.
While US officials first predicted the timeline for the campaign as four to six weeks, Trump has repeatedly said the campaign is "ahead of schedule." Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said last week it is "only just the beginning," a contrast that reflects the internal uncertainty over how long the conflict will last.
The US-Israeli strikes on Iran began Feb. 28 and have reportedly killed more than 1,200 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Fourteen US service members have been killed since the beginning of the campaign.
