US President Donald Trump said Thursday he was not interested in winning the Nobel Peace Prize, brushing aside questions about whether the military campaign against Iran might affect his chances of receiving the award.

"I don't know. I'm not interested in it," Trump told the Washington Examiner, adding that the prize had not come up in his recent conversations with foreign leaders.

He said he had “no idea” if US-Israel joint attacks would “get him over the finish line” with Nobel committee members.

The remarks mark a notable shift in tone for the US president, who previously insisted he deserved the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize for resolving conflicts around the world. The prize went to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who later gifted her medal to Trump.

Trump was asked in the same interview Thursday about Cuba, which he has indicated is next on Washington's agenda after Iran.

He has previously said Cuba could face a "friendly takeover" by the US, though acknowledged it "may not be friendly."

When asked whether military operations on the island could provoke further conflict with drug cartels in the region, Trump was dismissive. "That's not going to happen," he said.
