House adopts Republican budget framework, advancing Trump’s agenda

WASHINGTON
Republicans in the US House of Representatives passed a budget framework Thursday, paving the way for key elements of President Donald Trump’s domestic policy agenda.
The 216-214 vote, largely along party lines, marked a significant victory for House Speaker Mike Johnson and Trump, who endorsed the measure.
Only two Republicans -- Thomas Massie and Victoria Spartz -- opposed the resolution. The vote followed days of tension within the Republican party, with hard-line conservatives expressing concerns about insufficient spending cuts.
Trump hosted hardline Republicans on Tuesday for a meeting at the White House.
Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump urged House Republicans to pass the bill.
"Republicans, it is more important now, than ever, that we pass THE ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL. The USA will Soar like never before!!!" he said.
