WASHINGTON

US President Joe Biden will address Ireland's parliament on April 13, the White House said Wednesday.

At a press conference, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Biden will address "a full range of issues across our cooperation with Ireland" as well as have "some other various engagements outside of Dublin, including in County Louth and County Mayo".

"We do expect that on Thursday, in Dublin, he will address the parliament to make some of those larger points," Kirby told reporters.

"We're still lashing out the meetings, the bilateral discussions and so I suspect we'll have a little bit more detail on who exactly he's meeting and on what sort of a timeline in the next day or two," he added.

Biden will travel to the UK and Ireland on April 11 - 14.

The visit will commence in Belfast, Northern Ireland on April 11 - 12 to mark the tremendous progress since the signing of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement 25 years ago, spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.

The US will reiterate its support for Northern Ireland's vast economic potential to the benefit of all communities, it said.

Biden will then travel to Ireland on April 12 - 14, where he will discuss the close cooperation of the US and Ireland within current global challenges.
