11th US-ASEAN summit held in Indonesia
Summit adopts establishment of ASEAN-US Centre, stresses importance of advancing bloc outlook on Indo-Pacific

ISTANBUL
The 11th summit of the leaders of the US and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was held in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Wednesday.
US Vice President Kamala Harris represented Washington at the US-ASEAN summit.
The meeting stressed the importance of advancing the ASEAN outlook on the Indo-Pacific and anticipated "meaningful" implementation of the annex to the ASEAN-US Plan of Action (2021-2025) in line with their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The meeting also adopted the establishment of an ASEAN-US Centre in the US, according to a statement posted on ASEAN’s official website.
Jakarta has been hosting the 43rd summit of ASEAN leaders since Monday, and the regional bloc is also holding summits with its partners, including China, the US, and Japan, among others.
