Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday met with his Malian counterpart Ibrahim Boubacar Keita in the Turkish metropolis Istanbul.

The meeting between the leaders was held at the Vahdettin Pavilion, a rebuilt Ottoman-era mansion, according to the presidency.

Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan and Aminata Keita, her counterpart from the West African nation, also attend the meeting, which lasted nearly two hours.

Erdogan visited Mali in February 2018 as part of a four-nation African tour.
